Exactly what do you wish to accomplish. To me, it sounds like a job for Track Matte Keying, but then I could be horribly wrong. If you can tell us about what you wish to be the end result, then someone will be able to direct you. PrPro can do almost anything that you can dream of, but sometimes, one needs to take another approach.
I just want to cut a square hole in the black video (upper track)
so that I can see through that window the video that is playing on the lower track. (clip right under the black video)
I think I figured something out but I don't know if it affects quality this way.
I created a new sequence, then I nested the current sequence into the new one and applied a crop to the new sequence acomplishing what I wanted.
In Vegas I usually just drag and drop a border on the video and I'm done. I'm glad it worked anyway.
The only thing is that I'm not sure that it looks as good after nesting even though the new sequence has the same
Does anyone know if nesting degrades the quality? for some reason it looks a little soft.
If you only wanted a frame. around your video image..you could have easily and quickly made it in the Titler.
BTW: The garbage matte would never have worked. For some reason Adobe resists requests to be able to invert it or feather.
Cropping the video would have worked.
Motioning the video would have worked
