All I want to do is to take a video with my Sony camera. It creates Mpeg4 in HD. Download it to the Premiere Elements 8, change a few things and then make a DVD. I want to add more than one clip to the DVD. None of the tutorials I've seen tell me where to start. How to bring in the video. This is the most difficult piece of software I have ever encountered. There is more advertising than their is teaching. I can't imagine I am the only one with this problem. Chuck
It's difficult to say without know what model of camcorder your video is coming from. There is a world of difference in how you'd work with video from an AVCHD camcorder (which requires a lot of power), a Bloggie or Flip camcorder (which you can't edit without converting) and a still camera that shoots video (which also requires a conversion first).
But I can't tell if you're asking for help or if you just want to vent.
You say no tutorials have shown you how to use the program, but have you seen my free Basic Training with Premiere Elements tutorials? I have also written several books, all available on Amazon, based on my 6 years hosting this forum as well as my regular contributions to videomaker support site http://Muvipix.com.
It's really a very intuitive program, once you understand the basics -- and you limit your video editing to compatible video formats (per my Steve's Tips article at Muvipix).
On the other hand, if you have seen my tutorials and other helps and in your opinion they "suck", I'm not sure there's much I can do for you.
