I imported a video and the sound cuts out a third of the way.
The orignal file is fine and has audio all the way to the end.
I tried exporting the last section to see if it was just in preview which the sound wasn't coming out but the exported video also didn't have audio.
I removed the file and re-imported but still to no avail.
First go to Windows Update and ensure you have even the non-critical updates. (If you're using XP, click on the Custom button.) You're especially interested in sound card and RealTek updates.
Also, go to the Apple site and ensure you have the latest version of Quicktime. (It just updated yesterday.)
If that doesn't work, tell us more about your computer specs, including which version of Windows you're using and which version of Premiere Elements.
And be sure to let us know what type of camcorder your video came from and how you got it into your comptuer.
I downloaded and re-installed quicktime and it worked.
Thank you for your help and sorry for my late reply.
Thanks for taking our advice. Robert. It usually works!
