you could simulate that by extending Canvas with for example mySuperCavas and set your defaults there.
yea, but that could get annoying.
wish there was an easy way to just change flex defaults!
You can use the global selector in your stylesheet or StyleManager.
global has the lowest precedence when overrides occur.
You can also do it globally per component
/* set properties for every canvas */
thats just for styles, color, border, etc.
I am looking to do it for like horizontalScrollPolicy.
I figured out a recursive way to do it, but I'd like to do it in a global constant or something!
yea, but that could get annoying.--- why?
you do it once and then everytime you need canvas , instead of using mx;canvas you use yournamespace:canvas.
you can even do global searcha dn replace for existing canvases.
I've already thought of a programatic way to do it by setting all children of the Application's policies to off with a recursive function, but i was hoping there was an easier way.
Creating custom components (which increase the size of your SWF) for every control that I want to set standard properties on would get very annoying
