I need to use windows movie maker for this video that i am making. I am using a vixia hf 10 camera. When i go to "share" then "personal computer" what fomat should i use to make sure that it will be a good high quality picture that i can us with windows movie maker? also, what should all the sub options be at? like the dv ntsc options and stuff. i just need to know the exact format with the exact options to get this good picture. i have tried many times, but every time i seem to get a low quality picture.
You should use the DV-AVI output option. (I'm assuming you're also using the proper AVCHD project settings for your project file.)
This will be standard def DV, not hi-def, of course -- but you'll need to go to this format to work with the video in Windows MovieMaker.
But, since standard def has a fraction of the resolution of hi-def, it's not going to be nearly as clear and detailed an image. But it should make a quite good looking 640x480 video in MovieMaker.
Also, the NTSC/PAL setting will be determined by where you are located, i.e. NTSC for the US.
Out of curiosity, why are you using WMM at this point in the workflow? There might be a better way - or maybe not.
