I'm sure this is an easy fix but I'm a bit new to flash. I have a button which contains a movie clip of a simple animation in the over state. When the button is clicked to the down state the animation from the overstate restarts. Basically the button is supposed to work like the Mac nav bar where you mouse over an icon, it expands then you can click it from the expanded state.
Any suggestions on how to fix the down state so it doesnt replay the MC? Thanks for any suggestions.
If you don't extend the over state animation into the down state frame, it can't play in that frame.
I think the specific problem occurs when you release the mouse button. When you first click the icon it's fine but when you release the animation restarts because the cursor is in the overstate again. I'm not sure how much of a problem this will be once I insert a link in the button through. It may begin loading the page before the viewer can see it restart.
To have control of your button behaviors your best bet is to create them as movieclip symbols rather than button symbols.
