OK, I figured out how to create a donut-shaped object in 3D using Illustrator CS4. Now... I want to add a pattern to it.
I'm having a lot of trouble with this. It's a zebra pattern. I created a circle. Then made a hole in it. Then I "added" the zebra pattern using the pathfinder. But this removed the circular edges of the "donut," so when I use the 3D effect on it... the shapes turns out weird. Any ideas? Thanks!
Make the pattern a symbol then when you apply the 3D click on the Map Art button and map the symbol to the donut surfaces
Thanks! I need to practice, but that seems to be the way to go.
