Talyianna May 18, 2010 6:24 AM (in response to Talyianna)Weelllllll,
At least it works with ONE of my computers. On my other computer (almost exact same setup just about....different scanner tho': the Perfection 1650) I am not having any luck at ALL:( The Epson driver for the 1650 may be to blame tho', I don't know:(
I gave up after an hour and a bit of trying to make it work to no avail...

xgman May 23, 2010 9:27 AM (in response to gener7)on my mac, even with this twain driver in the import-export dir, it still doesn't work. Have to use the epson scan stadalone utility.
Edit. If i remove the old twain in the cs4 dir (addtl plugins folder) then it works in cs5.

PDFerguson May 26, 2010 2:12 PM (in response to Talyianna)Glad to hear the new TWAIN plugin is working for you. Note that the TWAIN plugin for CS5 is not compatible with Photoshop CS4, and vice versa, so make sure you get the right plugin for your version of Photoshop.
Also note that the TWAIN plugin for CS5 is 64-bit compatible, with two conditions:
(1) you must be running Snow Leopard (10.6); TWAIN will only work in 32-bit mode on Leopard (10.5).
(2) your scanner software must be 64-bit compatible. Currently, there are few scanners that support 64-bit (the Epson scanners do not, to my knowledge), but that should change over time. If your scanner software is not 64-bit compatible, it will not show up in the list of scanners under the File menu when running Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit mode.

valdezign Jun 21, 2010 5:39 PM (in response to Talyianna)You have to switch Photoshop CS5 into 32-bit mode to get the V500 to work:

Hopefully, EPSON will release a 64-bit version of their software but until then, this is what works for me.
