Is there a way to rasterize a vector file to a image with a size of about 32.000px?
I tried doing it in Photoshop (the image is in EPS format) and after about 8000px it gives an error (probably my 2GB of memory isn't enough).
I'm a beginner in Illustrator and don't know how to rasterize the image to this size, but I fear it's not possible. The image could also be split in several tiles, but together it should have the same resolution.
In case you wonder why I need such a huge image... it's for an application similar for Google Maps and I want to test it with large maps.
Thanks in advance!
I'm surprised Photoshop would give you an error message but there is a file format for Photoshop called PSB which stands for Big Photoshop File. You can try saving it that way first before rasterizing it and then see if it will rasterize once it's saved in that format.

Exactly! For the initial rasterization, all pixels would be generated at once and consume a lot of RAM. Adobe don't have tiled rasterizers as some GIS tools have. In fact, producing such a large image may only be possible with 64bit Photoshop because of that.
