I edit files locally then upload later. I recently bought an Airport Extreme Router which allows you to attach an external hard drive. I now store all my work files on it. Since I did this I can manage and set up my site. The only problem is I can't preview my site in browser anymore. Dreamweaver can't seem to find the path to the harddrive. Here is the path that dreamweaver looks to
External HD:CornerStone:Online Marketing:Website-2009:programming:html:
But it should be
Airport:External HD:CornerStone:Online Marketing:Website-2009:programming:html:
Anyone know how to resolve this issue? The only thing I can think of right now is to move all my web files back to my local MAC hard drive.
You can try to create a new website make sure your directory is correct!
as often, there are several ways to do this:
The one, and I prefer it for my daily work, is to copy your browser(s) completely with all the files in a DW subdirectory of your site. There you have to check the preferences (Translated from the German DW) and adjust accordingly (in addition here a hardcopy):
The other way (for the future) would be, to save every single page to the new DW directories, because then you will be "asked" from your DW whether it should update all the links. That's indeed very laborious.
But, to make it a little bit easier, you could modify the paths using "Find and Replace" in your source codes.
I see! Thank you!
