1. Re: Do I have to run the OS (10.6.3) in 64 bit in order to get full 64 bit benefits of PS CS5?
trilobyte550m May 10, 2010 5:14 PM (in response to jellysquare)You should be fine running with the 32-bit kernel. Leopard & Snow Leopard can still use 64-bit applications just fine.

Anshum Arora May 10, 2010 9:10 PM (in response to jellysquare)By default Photoshop runs in 64 bit mode. If you want to switch between 32 and 64 bit then you would need to select Applications\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Adobe Photoshop CS5.app and then press Cmd + I, or click "Get-Info" from File menu.
In the Info panel, there would be a checkbox Open in 32 bit mode. Click that and Relaunch Photoshop. It will then run in 32 bit mode. Do reverse(Uncheck that) to run Photoshop in 64 bit mode.

Chris Cox May 11, 2010 3:52 PM (in response to jellysquare)And you can run 64 bit on MacOS 10.5.8.
You do not have to use the MacOS 64 bit kernel until you have more than 32 GIG of RAM installed on your system.
