    Missing template

      I have a very strange problem with my DW CS4 template. I was intending to edit the template for my website and found the code at the topof the page (see below)

      <html><!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/DTemp.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->
      <head><!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="head" -->

      Problem is the templates folder is empty and the DTemp.dwt file does not exist anywhere on my system.

      I am trying to edit the Footer area which would appear to be in the template. It will let me detach the template so I can then edit the footer but I am concerned it will effect all my other pages ....and not in a good way.

      Can I safely detach the template without my whoel website imploding ?????

          You can safely detach the DW Template from the page ... but if you ever find the Template and update it, then it will likely wipe out your edits.

          I think it would be safer to either find the Template (best case scenario) or try to recreate it. But I'd do that on a copy of the site, in case anything goes wrong.
