PRE8.0.1. on both machines
Computer 1: Intel Core2Quad Q9650 3.0, NVidia Quadro NVS 290 256mb updated, 8GB DDR2 1600, 2xHDD 7200 C:system D:video files, Pioneer DVR- 109, W7/64 Pro.
Computer 2: Intel i5-750 Core2Quad 2.66, ASUS GForce GTS250 512mb updated, 4GB DDR3 1333, 1xHDD 500GB 7200, SonyOptiarc DVD writer,
No problem setting up any project and using the timeline. PRE8 will export avi file to HDD, but when asked to burn to disc using Ritek DVD-R, at 95% disc is ejected and message is 'Device error - the target device isn't suitable for use'. When PRE8 asked to burn to folder, at 28% export stops and message is 'Device error - the target device isn't suitable for use'. All the latest updates and drivers have been installed on both machines. Did not have this problem with PRE4 on W/XP machines. Both dvd writers have no problem burning CD/DVD discs using Windows or DVD Decrypter. Computer 2 has system, ZoneAlarm security suite and PRE8 installed no other software to interfere. How do I get PRE8 to burn my discs?
Your suggestions, guys, will be most welcome.
Had read many posts to find this subject before writing this post, but aftyer posting I went on the search again and found my answer on a post by Haacho at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/630827?tstart=30.
Having used Premiere 6.5 and PRE4 I have always put a stop marker on the timeline at the end of the project so that it would return to the disc menu.
I removed the stop marker from the timeline on both machines and they have now produced two very good dvds.
Am I a happy bunny!!
That last Stop Marker seems to have bitten a lot of folk, and rather lately.
Thanks for reporting,
