If you are using the trial version, it will not work with or output to MPG files

Welcome to the forum.
Most likely, John T. is correct, and you have the trial version. The full version fully supports MPEG, plus even has DSLR Sequence Presets added, as of CS5.
There might be some useful info in this ARTICLE and its links, though it was done prior to the release of CS5.

One great and positive change from CS3 & CS4, is that when you do receive your full-paid version, you can now just plug in your S/N and Activate, and your crippled trial will upgrade to the full-paid version. Hopefully, there will not ever be a need to run Adobe CleanScript CS5, like there was with CS3 & CS4. That should save users upgrading from trial, a load of time.
