in order to stop the flv playing I used a corresponding skin with a stop funktion. Look here:
In case my solution does not correspond to your ideas, please post the link to your website.
Hi, thanks for taking the time to help...
I have tried but cannot replace you flv within my copied page.
i have changed the file from properties inspector and then amended code where "streamName=" to the name of my flv file but no good:
your http://www.kform.co.uk/test.html looks very well!
Now you should do this procedure which I'll try to describe in detail from the beginning (translated from German DW) in order to implant it in your "real" website:
Got to the place of your DW file where you want to implant it.
Use DesignMode: Insert Flash-Video.
search/browse ---> myFLV.flv.
skin: Halo Skin 3 (min. width 280) ( it's only my choice).
width 640 ( it's only my choice).
height 480 ( it's only my choice).
I clicked all the boxes.
---> And now away with all these files to your server (best you have a look with the WIN-Explorer to your directory, to see all the files DW has created in your subdirectory and don't forget one):
YourFlv.php (or YourFlv.html)
Clear_Skin_1.swf (my choice)
....the original embedded flv does not stop when i click on the link...it keeps playing. How do I get it to stop?
Do you have the .flv set to autoplay? Take that off.
AFAIK, the best method is to let the user initiate playing any videos. Otherwise, they would be forced to hit the stop button on the .flv so they can listen to the .wmv.
the flv needs to auto play.
"Otherwise, they would be forced to hit the stop button on the .flv so they can listen to the .wmv."
exactly, that's why i'd like to know how to make the flv stop playing when the .wmv link is clicked.
Thanks I know where the button is, but you're not understanding the issue.
Wow, a glib and rash answer, after all my efforts!"Open windows player and stop the flv playing", I feel you look for a "jack of all trades device". There is of course a possibility (&clickTag=[URL] defines a target), but do you really believe that's worth the effort: here only one click, there a inconvenient programming?
In my opinion, you should go the easy way, which I showed you in number 3 of this thread.Hans-G.
