What is your operating system? I assume that you are on Windows.
Ca you uninstall Adobe Reader? Or do you get the error also during uninstall?
What is your antivirus application? Have you tried to disable your antivirus while installing?
yes windows, xp, my anti-virus is kaspersky, I tryed removing the adobe
reader thru the control panel add and remove program , i tried the repair on
the adobe screen .\when I tried to remove the program the error message was
error 1402 coudlnt open key, so it sounds by a registry problem. i have

Are you trying to uninstall/reinstall as an Administrator user?
If you cannot uninstall the Reader from Add/Remove Programs, try to remove it with the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Note that there have been problems reported if the tool is used when Office 2007 is installed.
Next download http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/enu/AdbeRdr930_en_US.msi, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.
If the problem persists, then some manual registry editing may be necessary.
