How do i import a table from excel into dw8?

    AirParker
I want to import a table from excel into a table in dw8, i just want the data inside the excel table to be imported to the table in dw8.

The tables has the same stracture - number of rows and columns.

      is it possible?

btw special paste is no good, since it copies the stracture of the table from excel which contains <td height="17">, which is not good coding - td doesn't support the height option.

That will import the table from the excel file with the excel code, i just want to import the data inside the table cells, into a table in dw8 which has the same stracture as the excel table (same rows and columns number).

No, it won't. Try it. Do it on a blank page, and then copy the resulting
table and paste it into your page.

If you want the same structure why do you make the table in DW first?

Just import the Exel data and you will get the same struture automatically.

What version of DW are you using? Importing directly from Exel works
                      flawlessly for me in DW8.

                          No.

You began the thread with: "I want to import a table from excel into a
                          table in dw8..."

Then you went on to add that the structure in Excel matched already had set
                          up in DW.

If the structure of what want in DW is the structure you already have in
Exel do NOT recreate a cell struture to match in DW.

Just import the Exel information into DW and you will get the structure from
Exel that you want. You are over complicating the process by making another
matching cell structure in DW already.

That's pretty much what Murray was getting at in his second post.
Try it on a blank page as Murry suggested and see what happens.

Once there you can style and edit to your liking.

Yes. That is what I meant.

I may not be fully understanding what you are doing, but you did write that
you were trying import Excel data into an already existing table structure
you created in DW to match the structure of the Excel file.

YOU WROTE: >>>....into a table in dw8 which has the same structure as
the excel table (same rows and columns number).

AND NOW YOU WRITE: >>> If thats what u ment my problem is the excel
                                    code and nothing else...

So, how can the problem be "nothing else" if you are trying to combine these
                                    two elements somehow?
Again, I may not understand what you want and how you are trying to acheive
it, but in my experience if you want the same cell structure in DW as your
Excel file just import it "raw" without trying to bring it in to a matching
                                    structure.

When you import the Excel file into a completely blank page, is the
structure the same as it was in the Excel document?
