Cut out Picture w/ No Background

    micahman
All I want to do is take a digital picture and cut it out so that it is in a circle shape w/ no background. I need to input it into a flash template. I've tried saving it as a GIF, because I was told that it would make the background transparent. However, when I put it into flash, it still shows a white background. Can anyone help me? This seems like this would be a fairly simple & common task.

      Thanks!

If the image has a white background and you are exporting it as a GIF
with Index transparency to eliminate the white background, you will be
left with a white anti aliasing halo around the foreground. You need to
extract the foreground from the white background. Here's a good article
          about how to do that.

Once you've done that, set the export format to 32 bit PNG with a matte
that matches the background of your Flash file.

Thanks Peter! And you'll eventually be able to hear me. I am currently
filling tapes with ideas, riffs and bits of songs I'll eventually turn
into actual recordings/demos. I also want to salvage some of the stuff
we recorded in the 80's and 90's with my band and put that on my
personal site. I've only started playing again regularly early this year
after a 6 years hiatus and it feels really good ! :-)
