1. Re: WAV Audio timestamps in Premiere Pro CS3
Harm Millaard May 17, 2010 3:11 AM (in response to Danielpremiere)PR does not have that feature. It does not even have it for video, let alone for audio only.
PR can recognize date and time stamp changes, used for scene detection, but does not record it anywhere, like in the file name, so once captured, PR can no longer access those data.

2. Re: WAV Audio timestamps in Premiere Pro CS3
Danielpremiere May 17, 2010 3:25 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)Hi,
Many thanks. My audio engineer will have to continue titling the audio files with the timestamp then. This seems a very strange thing to be missing. Does anyone else agree?

3. Re: WAV Audio timestamps in Premiere Pro CS3
Harm Millaard May 17, 2010 3:54 AM (in response to Danielpremiere)There are third party utilities for video to add that data, that are embedded in a video stream, but I have not heard about similar third party utilities for audio. The point is that video records date and time stamp for each shot. But audio recorders do not by definition record those data as well, maybe apart from the broadcast equipment you are talking about.

4. Re: WAV Audio timestamps in Premiere Pro CS3
Steve House Sep 3, 2010 4:37 PM (in response to Harm Millaard)I know I'm replying in an old thread but you might be interested to note that the standard wav file format found in most professional level file-based recorders such as those from Sound Devices, Tascam, Edirol, Zacom, HHB, actually record using the bwf broadcast wave file format. The BWF file header metadata includes the timestamp of the first audio sample. If the recorder is timecode able it contains the contents of the timecode clock register at the instant of the first sample or 00:00:00 if timecode not available..
