# Arrange dynamic objects into a shape...

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some help with a project Im working on. I have a for loop that is duping an object 9 times for a total of 10 objects. I need to arrange those objects in a circle. But since they're created dynamically I'd like to keep it dynamic so instead of assigning an X and a Y to each one by hardcode, does anyone know of an equation I can apply to my for loop to assign the correct X's and Y's to each object to create my circle shape?

the function below will duplicate any movieclip and arrange the original movieclip (mc) and its copies along the perimeter of a circle with center ctrX,ctrY and radius rad:

That's a useful bit of code. Good one!

kglad! Thanks so much for the function, I got it working right away. The only thing is it seems that all of my objects are only forming part of the circle. I'll keep goofing around with it, but if you know thats happening, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for the previous help.

Scratch that.. I just figured that part out. Thanks again mate.

Hey, kglad, or other. Do you know of a way to get those dynamically created movieclips that are created in a circle to move around the edge of the circle while keeping the same center point? This guy is wanting some serious animation while trying to maintain alot of dynamic capability... its starting to drive me nuts. :) Any help would be awesome. I tried just timelining it using a guide layer but the center point gets offset when the MC's get duped so what it looks like is a huge circle of movieclips all moving in unison, in a circluar motion, no actual revolving. Thanks in advance mate.
