I installed after effects CS5 on my mac last night and it crashes every time i want to preview or render a sequence. I have CS4 installed on the same machine and the same project works fine. I have spoken to Adobe support three times and gone through the same questions with them (three times) and nothing seems to help.
I have installed the same copy of After effects onto my laptop and it works fine - the laptop is running OS 10.6.2 and my main machine is running 10.6.3
I have tried deleting prefs and Open GL drivers but these also do nothing to help
Any ideas would be most appreciated?
You have an evil Quicktime CoDec/ component, an outdated plug-in, a bad font or some system extension/ helper program is not compatible with Snow Leopard and in turn bunks up AE. Those guesses cover 90% of all options. Perhaps you can provide some more info based on those suspicions...
Mylenium you are a star!
I'm not sure which one of your answers it was but it was one of two things. I deactivated all my fonts as well as removing the quicktime codecs from my quicktime pro 7. It may have been that i have recently added a second HD to my mac from an older mac that also had quicktme on it as i removed the codecs from that also and it all works fine now.
Thanks a bundle for your help
