in my German CS5 DW the way to see or not to see the dotted white line is:
Ansicht --> Visuelle Hilfsmittel --> Tabellenrahmen,
translated in English with my words it's something like that:
View --> Visual Aids --> Table Borders
Thanks for responding!
Unfortunately, when on a Mac, toggling the table borders in VIEW/VISUAL AIDS does nothing to a borderless table on a blackground.
Try View > Visual Aids > CSS Layout Backgrounds.
If that doesn't help, you may just find it easier to give your table a border while you work on the page and remove it when you're ready to publish.
hans-g: What you're showing is what I want, but even when I copy your settings I don't get that on the Mac.
Nancy: That removes the background color and I can see the tables on a white background, but really messes with my design view. As I've found no other solution I've been toggling that on and off.
I appreciate everyone's help so far.
This problem is also driving me nuts as I'm working on a site that is black with white text.
It's really irritating when you spring $1K for the update and it takes away functionality that you used to have in previous versions.
Anyone found a solution yet? If not I'll have to go back to CS 3.
