I'm looking for a bit of advice for a quick fix slideshow to put into a a students degree show website. I have previously made slideshows by just doing manual frames and no code, but I need a bit of advice for this.
What I'm doing:- A slideshow of 26 pictures, which changes picture every 3 secs .But I need a separate bit of code so that every time the page loads up it does not start at the same slide, any tips? I also need it to link to separate student pages when you click the image on the slideshow.
It would also be nice If anyone had overall size guidelines for the overall slideshow so It does not take ages to load.
Here are some links to build a slide show.
To play a different photo when ever a user visit i suggest u read all the photo links to and array and generate a random number using Math.random api and start playing the slide show from that element of the array. The chances of the same photo playing again from a set of 25 is less.
To navigate to different student pages
Have the image names and a link to their pages in a 2d array.
Add listeners to every image and listen to those events, that match the events parent names i.e the image name against elements in the array and that read the link from the matching child array ad use the command navigateToURL(request:URLRequest, window:String = null) to navigate to that frame.
Or even better u can hard code that click event listener function for every image with its path, which is simpler to program.
