Hello - I use FME on Amazon's EC2 Cloudfront quite a bit; I'm intrigued by the P2P component of Stratus, and the ability for it to lower my delivery costs significantly.
Is it currently possible to deploy Stratus in some form to S3/EC2 and to use it with a live stream coming from FME? What is needed on the server side front, and the client front?
Currently, I utilize FME to connect to a FMS instance on EC2. I'm doing live broadcasts, so it would be extremely efficient to leverage the P2P portion of Stratus for live video delivery, much in the same way that CNN utilized that one P2P plugin (Octoshape?) for their live webcast of the Obama inauguration.
terminology: "Stratus" is the name of Adobe's hosted RTMFP rendezvous service. at this time, Stratus is not a product that you can buy, install, or deploy.
the next version of Flash Media Server will support RTMFP. it is not available for purchase yet.
