I have two pages, each with three columns and a header and footer and menu bar at the top. The second page is a copy of the first, and has images in the right hand side sidebar, but the first has no images. The container on both pages is 760 px wide, with auto on the right and left margins to centre the page.
The problem is, when switching between pages, the container moves sideways by 10px.
I have compared both fies with Beyond Compare and found no differences that would affect the layout.
does nayone have any suggestions please that would eliminate this annoying sideways shift?
I forgot to mention above that both pages use the same Style
did you check the sum of all your referring to all your entries about the different "width"'s? Maybe the sum, including the images and their potentially borders exceeds your 760 px limit.
If this idea is not the cause for moving, please send a link to your website.
Thanks for this quick reply, hans-g. I have rechecked the dimensions, and looked at the outlines in the Design window in DW CS4, and nothing appears to exceed the width of the container.
Incidentally, I am using IE8. You can see the problem on my website which is under development. On the top menu line, just switch between Home and About Us to see the sideways shift.
