DW hangs (?) when renaming a folder

    signcarver Level 1
I have a site with 292 html files in 2 different directories.
      - I select the folder i want to rename and hit F2 (rename)
      - I change the folder name.
      - DW ask me if i want to update the links and i say yes.
      - DW churns for 40 minutes before i finally interrupt it (Windows task manager says it is not responding)
      - Only a few of the links are change (14 of many thousands).

Are there any known problems in this area?
      Any suggestions?

edited to say - i have tried this multiple times and occasionally get a sharing violation on a "tmp" file.

      Thanks,
      Steve Racz

Enabling the site cache in your site settings should speed up these
          site-wide operations,
can you try recreating the site cache from the Site menu?

Thank you Joris. I did this but the results are the same. I am opening a new post discussing my findings.

            Thank you for your help!
