1. Re: Help with a symbol

2. Re: Help with a symbol
auctioneer May 24, 2010 10:38 AM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)How do I create a smart object?
I can draw the symbol with my pen tool and save as a symbol but the problem with this method is the symbol is not consistent, I can't draw it 12 times on the spec sheet and cannot get it exact every time. I need a line on a 45% angel I can use multiple times on the spec sheet and each 45% line is precise.
Would it be possible a symbol is not what I'm looking for here?
Maybe create a seperate.psd on transparent background and simply clone for as many times I need to use this line?
Thanks..

3. Re: Help with a symbol
c.pfaffenbichler May 24, 2010 10:46 AM (in response to auctioneer)Just make a Layer of the element (by filling or applying a stroke the
path or …) and use Layer – Smart Objects – Convert to Smart Object.
Then duplicate, transform, warp, filter, whatever the SO-instances; on
double-clicking one you can edit the content and on saving those
changes they will be applied to every instance.

auctioneer May 24, 2010 2:51 PM (in response to c.pfaffenbichler)Thanks....it took me a while to figure out what you suggested, but once I got my head wrapped around it, and give it a try, it worked perfectly.
Thanks again..
