you can use either pci or pci-x in your port. pci alot better options.

Pijetro May 24, 2010 8:33 AM (in response to Studio North Films)Yes, i realize that in some cases a PCI card might fit into a PCI-X port, but i need to know, is there any 3rd party hardware encoder that works with CS4.
Matrox CompressHD is a solution, but it's only PCIe..
There's also and Accelera 3000, but i doubt that it's supported anymore...
And even if it is, i can't even contact the people..

Scott Chichelli May 24, 2010 8:52 AM (in response to Pijetro)if you buy the Quadro CX that should solve it.

Pijetro May 24, 2010 12:20 PM (in response to Scott Chichelli)Yes, thank you...
I realize the Quadro CX line of cards, but am looking to fill up my current MOBO before i go ahead and pull the trigger on a new purchase...
There is no room for my current setup for an extra PCIe card.
Currently, i've got a Matrox RT.2X Le card, and it lets me run stable and up to speed. If i had room for an extra card, the CompressHD would be my first choice.
However, I've got an older HPwx9300 workstation (dual core AMD Opteron), with only PCI-X slots available...
Again, my system is pretty well stuffed, and if i can't find a PCI-X solution, then i will consider upgrading options.
