I'm having trouble reliably exporting jpgs at a consistent size from Illustrator.
Here's what happens:
Pull in a jpg- it's 100 x 100 pixels.
Scale it up 150%
Use the Transform palette to resize it back to 100 x 100
Export as jpg
Theoretically the export should be 100x100, but it will sometimes be off by a pixel or two. (100x101, 101x100 etc.)
My process is more complicated than this, and there's a reason for scaling up then scaling down, but this is the general workflow and the pixel dimensions aren't reliable when exporting.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
I believe it is caused by misalignment with the pixel grid; in at least CS5 you should be able to choose the alignment in the web document profile, see this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/646310?tstart=0
In older versions you will have to make sure the alignment is correct yourself.
