RGracia May 25, 2010 4:02 PM (in response to Harm Millaard)What's the point of reinstalling if the updates will break it?

3. Re: Premiere Pro CS4 and m2ts files nightmare
Harm Millaard May 25, 2010 4:10 PM (in response to RGracia)None.
You could also downgrade to CS3, CS2 or earlier.
My guess: your installation is corrupted.

RGracia Aug 11, 2010 9:09 AM (in response to RGracia)Do we qualify for free support in this issue? I have had no luck figuring out what the problem is.

7. Re: Premiere Pro CS4 and m2ts files nightmare
Jeff Bellune Aug 11, 2010 9:38 AM (in response to RGracia)Like Microsoft, the driver that Apple has available can often be several versions out-of-date.

8. Re: Premiere Pro CS4 and m2ts files nightmare
Bill Hunt Aug 11, 2010 9:54 AM (in response to RGracia)For a pure display issue, I generally recommend that the user updates their video driver first. What video card do you have? What is the driver version installed? Not sure where to gather that info on a Mac, as I am a PC-only guy.
Good luck, and let us know about the video sub-system.

10. Re: Premiere Pro CS4 and m2ts files nightmare
Bill Hunt Aug 11, 2010 10:02 AM (in response to RGracia)Oops! Intel makes great chips, but is very deficient with release of video drivers. I'd check their site, and also the computer mfgr's. site. Maybe Mac has better driver support?
Most users with Intel graphics chips opt to replace that with an ATI, or nVidia card, and just disable the on-board graphics with either the BIOS, or via switches/jumpers on the MoBo. If you have a laptop, that is likely not a viable solution.
Good luck,
Hunt

12. Re: Premiere Pro CS4 and m2ts files nightmare
Bill Hunt Aug 11, 2010 10:19 AM (in response to RGracia)I would definitely look to a non-embedded video sub-system for video editing. The Intel chips are OK for general computing, but a video editor interfaces much more closely with the video driver, than almost any other program type, except for CAD or heavy-duty 3D, and most of those systems have special cards for the tasks.
Good luck, and sorry for the bad news,
Hunt

13. Re: Premiere Pro CS4 and m2ts files nightmare
RGracia Aug 11, 2010 1:30 PM (in response to RGracia)Ok so the solution in this post <http://forums.adobe.com/message/2899293> resolves the issue. Changing the output quality in the viewer to Best Quality removes the distortion.
