cs5 master collection error code 7   I'm not alone

I tried the pre-release version a while back, and just uninstalled it. I now  tried to install the cs5 master collection  via download, and of course I have problems

First, every time I lauch the exe file,  adobe says a restart might be pending on this machine.. (well it's not)

2nd,  the installation starts and then stops with this error  : Payload cannot be installed due to dependent operation failure

Now, I am not going to ask if anyone ran into this, because I know there are PLENTY out there. Howerver, I am going to ask, Has anyone found the solution?

I'm guessing that since the pre-release installed fine, then the issue might be that I don't have a clean un-install.

Ok, I tried the clean utility from adobe, but of course it crashes when I run it. I  ran Microsoft windows cleaner but there is no cs5 items in there. And I refuse to uninstall all of my cs4 programs.

So, again, Has anyone found the solution or work around??

      Thanks a bunch,

      Lou

Like yourself I was hesitant about installing CS5 considering I already have a rock solid CS4 Design Premium already in use.  I took note of the many posts on this forum about installation issues hence I refrained from installing CS5 "on top" of a previous version of CS4.  Purchased a 1-terrabyte Western Digital OEM sata drive (7200 rpm with 32Mb cache) and installed a clean copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.  CS5 Design Premium installed uneventfully and I've been acclimating myself to all the new features.  Bob Levine suggested 64-bit o/s over the 32-bit version and I must admit I haven't seen any of the dreaded "out of memory" screens typical of our CS4 workstation along with posted comments from others.

Only issue I am fighting right now are boot issues when I upgraded from 6GB DDR3 to 12 GB DDR3 system memory on a Asus P6T motherboard.  I suspect I might have firmware/motherboard issues ...... one removed 2-gig memory mode  and the boot issues go away.... go figure?  I've also lost the ability to mildly overclock my i7-920 which breaks my heart.  Stay with 6GB and overclock at the expense of opening multiple apps and lower distill times or 12GB and lose some insane machine cycles?
