I am new to video editing and have just downloaded premier elements 8. I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite L500 1XD. Processor is Intel core I3, 4GB ram, 320GB hard drive. I only want to make some simple short movies with video footage taken by my Sony cybershot N1 camera (in video mode). I have checked / installed updates etc.
I have started a new project and when I play back the footage whist editing using the timeline mode, the whole thing is jerky and shakes. Please help me.
You will need to convert the video from a still camera to a more standard format before you can edit it in Premiere Elements, per the FAQs to the right of this forum.
Per the FAQ, if it is an AVI, you can convert it to a DV-AVI using Windows MovieMaker or MPEG Streamclip.
If it is a MOV, you can convert it to a DV-AVI with Super or Quicktime Pro.
