    Playing .swf files

    Sudeshchan_Shetty
      Hi All,

We have a requirement to play .swf movie files in Carbon and Win32 applications.
      How can we implement this?
Is there any SDK's to play .swf files in Mac and Windows?

      Any help is hugely appreciated.

      Thanks & Best Regards

Are you talking about hosting Flash files in Director, or ... ?

            Hi Sean,

From talking about this issue offlist, the question appears to be - are there any
other options besides Director of embedding a SWF into an application of your own
creation and does a SDK exist for the Flash player so you can create your own.

I know there are programs like mProjector or Zinc. These programs must have their own
embedded Flash players. Not sure how theu were created.

            regards

Given this poster's previous questions, I wondered whether this had
anything to do with Director or not.

Yes, but they just add to the capabilities of a Flash projector/desktop
application as opposed to embedding a swf in another application like
that created from VB or such.

What about embedding an AX control and using that? It will probably
require the Flash Player to be present, but that shouldn't be onerous to
              install.

                Hi

No. We are not hosting Flash files in Director.
We want to play .swf file in a pure Carbon and Win32 application.

So in Win32 you couldn't you use an ActiveX control? I have no idea what
to do about Macintosh environments though.
