Can you please send me AdobeARM.log file which can be found in your Temp folder?
On W7 and Vista it is C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp
On XP it must be C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp
It is always a good idea to provide as much information as possible when you post your question.
It is not even clear if you are asking about Reader or Acrobat.
Please, open "Control Panel\Add Or Remove Programs" on XP or "Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features" on Vista
and find Product Version specified there.
Make sure it is Version and not Product Name such as Adobe Reader 9.3
If you have more than one Reader or Reader and Acrobat installed, please get all Versions you can find.
Thank you for your prompt reply. I am asking about Adobe and my question was about not being able to install from the installer icon on my task bar when I was advised there was a new update. I was told to click on repair installation in Adobe, which I did—to no avail. I finally downloaded and installed the update from the Adobe website. I am attaching the file you requested. Today, the update reminder appears gone – finally– after two weeks. However, this problem is bound to recur when the next update arrives. What should I do when that happens? (By the way, I opted for automatic updates, and this is why I get the notification and reminders.)
File attachments are currently disabled in this forum. Please copy and paste the entire contents of the log file into your post.
Here is the file I was asked to provide. Also, after I sent the message, the notification about updating Adobe came back. How do I stop it?
