Here is one way to delete the tags using Acrobat 9:

          1. Open the PDF
          2. Open the Tags panel (View > Navigation Panels > Tags)
          3. Highlight all of your tags
          4. Click the Options icon in the Tags panel (the one that looks like a couple of gears)
          5. Click "Delete Tags"

            Additional "tag removal" schemes:

            --| 1
            Using Acrobat Pro.
            Advanced > PDF Optimizer
            Create a custom setting.
            Untick all but "Discard Objects"
In Discard Objects, untick all but "Discard document tags"
Use this to remove the PDF's structure tree.

            --| 2
            Using Acobat Pro.
Advanced > Accessibility > TouchUp Reading Order
With TORU, select "Clear Page Structure".

            --| 3
            Using Acrobat Pro.
Preflight - Create a new profile. Configure it to use the Fixup "Discard document structure".
Use this profile to remove a PDF's structure tree.

            --| 4
            Using Acrobat Pro.
            A Batch Sequence.
Create a Batch Sequence that runs a Preflight.
Select the Preflight profile created in #3 above.
This Batch Sequence can be run across one or many PDFs in a given directory/folder.

            Be well...
