    css syntax question

    iconofsin14 Level 1

      sometimes a piece of css will look like this

      #toolbar {
      background-color: #313031;
      padding: 5px 0px 5px 0px;
      }

      and sometimes it looks like this

      .toolbar {
      background-color: #313031;
      padding: 5px 0px 5px 0px;
      }

      (note the # is replaced with a . )

      is there any difference between the 2 ways of putting it?
