Has this always happened, or is it a recent development?
i have never been able to launch the program successfully, it always fails on load.
On the loading cycle, there is a little line of text, telling you what is being loaded. It goes by quickly, and is small, but it might yield a clue. I've suggested that people set up a video camera to watch that Splash Screen, just to capture the last line.
If it is failing on a VST, then keep launching, until it does launch fully. PrPro can write a "blacklist" of VST's to NOT load, but does not tell you what it is doing. It just seems to fail, though on a different VST each time. Keep trying, until it DOES load.
Same problem here Ryan. I've just shelled out for the full master collection for mac OS ($4.5K AUD) and it crashes every time on launch. Works through splash screen fine, gets to 'initializing application', splash screen disappears, icon jumps up and down in the dock a few times... and then the crash report.
I'm sure it's a great new version - if only I could get it to load.
Thanks for your reply, and classic avatar of you enjoying a glass of red. I tried your idea of re-launching but stopped after around 20 times as it just keeps failing on ImporterAIEPS.bundle.
Tiger, sorry you are feeling the same pain as myself Hopefully Adobe gets this sorted soon so we can start editing some videos.
I was hoping that it was just the VST "blacklisting" going on, but sound like it's something else.
Were it me, I'd do a Repair Install, just to rule out broken/missing .dll's, etc.
Notice that I am grasping at straws here, but good luck,
Try searching for and moving that file, and try again
Not sure why the AI EPS Importer would be an issue, unless yours is corrupt in some way. That's why I suggested the Repair Install.
I like Jeremy's suggestion to just hide that, and try again. You should actually not need that, until you need to Import an AI EPS.
So I still haven't had any luck getting it to launch.
I removed the two .bundle plugins it seemed to be getting stuck on, which were ImporterAIEPS.bundle and Write_on.bundle.
It still crashes before launching. Can someone double check their plugins in folder for me and tell me if they have 223 items? I am thinking maybe I am missing a plug-in.
OK, I actually just fixed this. Here is how:
1. After installing, launch Adobe Encore CS5. It will need to install some updates. Let it, and then let it close.
2. Launceh Premiere Pro CS5. Should launch fine.
Did you happen catch the version number in the splash screen while your new-and-improved Premiere was loading? Maybe 5.0.1?
Thank you for posting this. I am having an identical problem with both Premiere Pro and After Effects. Both applications are up to date as of today.
I eagerly await a solution!
Turn off your Firewall and see if it loads okay.
If it does load, then you need to allow your Firewall to all access for:
adobe qt32 server.exe
adobe premiere pro.exe
and any other Adobe programs that want access.
I am running McAfee Internet Security with the Firewall in the Stealth Mode.
I just wait for McAfee to tell me one of Adobe programs are trying to access the internet and I set if for full access.
With McAfee, you may have to wait up to 5 minutes for it to prompt you while Premeire or After Effects trys to load.

I have no firewall and I use a Mac. No .exe files for me. No mcafee or norton anything. Just Mac OS X version 10.6.4 on a brand new iMac. I could email you a system profile if you like...
I am not a Mac person, I am running Windows 7. I am not sure what the problem is on a Mac. Sorry
