    AVG Alert / Firefox, IE8

Some of our clients aren't able to edit regions on this page:  http://www.bonnettwm.com/whatwedo/discovery.htm

They receive an error from AVG. I dont have AVG, so no problem for me it seems. Here's a screenshot:

I'm just not sure how to proceed. It's happening to 2 separate users in two different locations/machines. Both are windows. Both have tried IE8 & Firefox. I am using safari.

The simple solution night be to stop using AVG, but many people beleive in it for some reason, so that option is out.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

I also have a client that was unable to edit a webpage because of the same AVG alert. Please help.

          Thank you!

            Solution found:

The glitch, specifically, is with the LinkScanner, which is designed to prevent outside software from controlling your web browser. But, that is exactly what Adobe InContext Editing is supposed to do. To give you the controls to edit your web site, Adobe takes control of your web browser, so to speak. I really don’t think there is a virus or a security issue. I just think that AVG mistakes Adobe InContext Editing as a threat – at least for now. Maybe AVG will fix itself in the next update.

So for now, my suggestion is …

            1. Open your AVG program to the Overview page.

            2. Double-click on LinkScanner icon (globe schematic with a star and a checkmark).

            3. Un-check AVG Active Surf-Shield (bottom left) — when you are ready to edit your web site using Adobe InContext editing.

            4. Edit your site, post new market notes or bank rates.

            5. Re-check AVG Active Surf-Shield (bottom left) — when you are done — to restore Surf-Shield protection.

Do this just when you edit your web site. This works for me
