[Jongware] Jun 4, 2010 2:55 AM (in response to jord_)The mirrored image is clearly not the same as your original. ID is not a 3D renderer (of course you are free to send this in as a Feature Request).
It's possible (remotely) to draw the picture you need in InDesign, but I'd strongly advise using a dedicated illustrator program for something like this.

jord_ Jun 4, 2010 5:01 AM (in response to [Jongware])I see, maybe this is not done in InDesign. Im familar with most of the Adobe products.
But I look for a easy way to make all my photos in a products catalogue to get mirrors.
Its a catalgue on 200 pages, and I don't want to edit all the original pictures.
The mirror function I used is good when the products is taken in front, but when its
from the side, like this one, the coreners will not be correct. -

Jeffrey_Smith Jun 4, 2010 5:15 AM (in response to jord_)To create the reflection effect in InDesign, duplicate the original package image, copy and paste into two separate frames: one for the face portion of the package, the other for the side panel. Flip each frame and then use the shear tool to distort the face accordingly and likewise for the side portion.

6. Re: Mirror a picture in InDesign
[Jongware] Jun 7, 2010 2:53 AM (in response to jord_)As Jeffrey pointed out, it is possible in InDesign. But I would say it's a complicated way of doing something that should be done easy in Illustrator, or, since this is a bitmap image, in Photoshop.

P Spier Jun 7, 2010 6:21 AM (in response to jord_)Just my two cents, but mirroring that rather large looking piece of equipment (looks like a boiler to me, with the temp/pressure gauge), in my opinion, is going to look pretty odd. Why would anyone ever expect to see it on a mirrored surface?

8. Re: Mirror a picture in InDesign
jord_ Jun 7, 2010 6:42 AM (in response to P Spier)Yes, its a boiler, you have right. We only fresh up the catalogue of our products and the
pictures look better in that way. I see your point, but all the products in that catalogue is already big and
not so interesting from the begining. I think this will be good in a catalogue. If you see this attached file I have tried to do some mirror, will take it little more down on the opacity.

jord_ Jun 9, 2010 6:33 AM (in response to Jeffrey_Smith)Thanks, this was a great way to do it.
Easy and fast, and the original picutre is still the same.
