You can use the ID Host Adapter library to listen for the events exposed by ID scripting in pure ActionScript. In ExtBuilder, right click your project and go to Properties -> CS Extension Builder Libraries -> Host Adapters and check the ID Host Adapter library.
Take a look at the Host Adapter API reference provided in the Extension Builder-based help for examples of how to use the library.
thanx for the answer.
For some reason, I never heard of the Host Adapter API, although I got my extention working fine and i followed the introduction videos on the web / lab.
In addition, I m working with the Fash Builder and followed the installation instruction - but I only have the option "Flex Build Path" available for registring libs. There is no option called CS Extension Builder Libraries.
The Extention Builder Library didnt come with a Host Adapter API Reference. Only the CS5 SDK provides a reference....
What am I missing?
It sounds like you're using the free "CS SDK" rather than CS Extension Builder, which is a Eclipse/Flash Builder plug-in for developing extensions. The host adapter libraries aren't available through the CS SDK - they're only available with Extension Builder.
More context around the difference between CS SDK and Extension Builder is available here http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/sdk/index.html
You are right.
I got it working via the ExtentionBuilder Hoster Adapter API as well.
