Semaphoric Jun 4, 2010 1:39 PM (in response to the magical me)Do you want to just flip the image left to right, or do you want to make it look like an object is on a reflective surface?

2. Re: can you guide me how to mirror an image using Photoshop CS4 ME ?
the magical me Jun 4, 2010 2:19 PM (in response to Semaphoric)exactly like the reflection which shows up in the image, that lets say like the reflection of yourself standing near a river, where the reflection should be in the water, BUT I DON'T ONLY WANT TO MAKE WATER REFLECTIONS I want to know how to create such a reflection ??
or let's say that it's not conditional to have the reflection set to the down side, may be on the right of left...
I hope you understood what I want .

3. Re: can you guide me how to mirror an image using Photoshop CS4 ME ?
Noel Carboni Jun 4, 2010 3:21 PM (in response to the magical me)You're looking to do something like this, then?
There are 1000 ways to do anything in Photoshop, but an easy way may be to make a second copy of what it is you want a reflection of in a new layer, Edit - Transform - Flip Vertical, set opacity and move it to where it's positioned below the first copy. A horizontal mirror just reverses things vertically. A vertical mirror reverses things horizontally.
Making a reflection look real on an imperfect surface (e.g., existing water in a photo) is a bit more challenging but it can be done with some elbow grease.

5. Re: can you guide me how to mirror an image using Photoshop CS4 ME ?
Noel Carboni Jun 4, 2010 3:36 PM (in response to the magical me)Unfortunately I'm not too good for recommending good tutorials, as I'm almost 100% self-taught (experiment, try, fail, try again, succeed, that kind of thing).
A Google search for "create mirrored image using Photoshop" does turn up a lot of tutorial content, e.g., http://www.photoshop911.com/tricks/mirror_image.html
With Photoshop you can do anything to an image given sufficient time and effort.
Enjoy the journey!

the magical me Jun 4, 2010 3:52 PM (in response to Noel Carboni)thanks, and please don't get me wrong as not googling, on the contrary, I use google as the first mean, but as you mentioned, it just reveal tons of results, most of are confusing you rather than helping, and that's what I asked.
again.... thank you very much, and now I am with the link you gave.
best regards.

Noel Carboni Jun 4, 2010 4:08 PM (in response to the magical me)One other thing you'll want to investigate is selecting things so as to be able to separate them from the background or surroundings.
Good luck!
