Hello, this is probably quite a basic question but I'm new to this and really stuck! I recently bought a Samsung HMX-U10 (http://www.it247.com/product/1/SAMID05W/HMX-U10SP-XEU-Samsung-HMX-U10-Silver-Camcorder-fla sh-card.html) and when I try and import the files to Premiere Elements 7 the image is very jumpy. I think it might be to do with the project preset as am not having this problem with videos I recorded on other devices. I've tried them all and none work! Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or which setting I should be using? Would be so grateful for any help!
actually I think it's the frame rate as everything else looks OK - the frame rate on the videos I'm trying to import is29/second as opposed to 25/second. Crossing everything that someone can help as this is a video of my friend's wedding!
It sounds like you are either trying to mix NTSC and PAL, or 29.97 Interlaced and 25p.
G-Spot, the great, free utility can tell you exactly what you have.
Two possibilities would be to:
Convert one FPS to the other, with all other attributes the same.
Start a New Project for the odd footage, and edit, then Export/Share that to the Frame Rate as the other footage.
Note: the Project Preset must match the source footage 100%, or issues will arise.
