I would try to uninstall, then install the latest Adobe Reader 9.3.2. Assuming that you are on Windows and want the English version of Reader, here are the download links
- Install 9.3: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/enu/AdbeRdr930_en_US.msi
- Update 9.3.1: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3.1/misc/AdbeRdrUpd931_all_incr.msp
- Update 9.3.2: http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3.2/misc/AdbeRdrUpd932_all_incr.msp
I finally found it & reinstalled 9.3. It fixed one problem, but don't know
about the printing part. Storm zapped my printer a few nights ago. I can't
seem to uninstall the older version of Adobe though. It won't let me. Any
ideas on that?
What older version of Adobe - Reader 9.1.2? You should uninstall it first, before installing 9.3.
What does "won't let me" mean - do you get an error message?
You can remove corrupted installations by using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. But you will need to reinstall 9.3, as all 9.x versions install in the same Reader 9.0 folder.
From my experience, you can upgrade your Reader to the latest version. Check out the Q&A, which gives many details.
I tried to uninstall it first but this is what it said," This patch pkg.
could not be opened. Verify the patch pkg.exists & you can access it or
contact the application vendor to verify it is a valid Windows Installer
I will do that the 1st chance I get & let you know. Will I have to reinstall
any other programs? It had a warning when I went to that page. Thanks!
Do you have Microsoft Office 2007 installed? I've heard of some diffculties with that utility and Office 2007.
If you do have Office 2007, I recommend making a System Restore Point before proceeding.
I have Windows XP. I've had so many break downs of everything around here &
having to make 160 mile round trips daily to get parts, I just haven't had
time to take care of that yet. But , I will. I can't stand something being
wrong on here.
Take your time; I will see it whenever you post again.
I installed this "Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package
now.". It said to click finish & I did & I can't find it or don't know what
to do next. I guess maybe I will try to take off the old programs & see what
Still won't remove Adobe reader . What next ? Try to install it again?
