Upgraded to CS3 - What do I uninstall now?
JayNewWeb Aug 13, 2007 1:15 AMI had DW MX 2004 on my XP Pro SP2 system until just now
uninstalling it.
I also have these six main Adobe programs:
Premiere Elements 3 (trial)
Audition 1.5
InDesign CS2
Acrobat 7 Standard
Photoshop Elements 2.0
Visual Communicator 3 (beta)
I've just installed DW CS3.
I notice the following items were also added in "Programs" along with it:
Adobe Bridge CS3 (path: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CS3\Bridge.exe")
Adobe Device Central CS3
Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit 2 (path: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Utilities\ExtendScript Toolkit 2\ExtendScript Toolkit 2.exe")
Adobe Extension Manager CS3
After installing DW CS3 and then uninstalling DW MX 2004, I still have the following shown in "Programs" from my earlier installation of DW MX 2004 (etc?):
Macromedia Extension Manager (path: "C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Extension Manager\Extension Manager.exe")
Adobe Bridge (path: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge\Bridge.exe")
ExtendScript TookKit (path: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Utilities\ExtendScript Toolkit\ExtendScript Toolkit.exe")
In "Add or Remove Programs," I have (in addition to the new DW CS3, the six main programs listed above, Adobe Acrobat and Reader 7 components, Acrobat Connect Add-in, Flash Player 9 ActiveX, and Shockwave Player):
Adobe Atmosphere Player for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader (last used March 2005)
Adobe Bridge 1.0 (last used June 2006)
Macromedia Extension Manager (last used TODAY)
How much of that should I be deleting at this time?
I would have thought what I should be doing is first going into “Add or Remove Programs” and removing the following:
Adobe Atmosphere Player for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader
Adobe Bridge 1.0
Macromedia Extension Manager
I also would have thought I should then remove any of the following that might remain in “Programs” and/or in the files in Explorer:
Macromedia Extension Manager (path: "C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Extension Manager\Extension Manager.exe")
Adobe Bridge (path: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge\Bridge.exe")
ExtendScript TookKit (path: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Utilities\ExtendScript Toolkit\ExtendScript Toolkit.exe")
However, I'm concerned that in "Add or Remove Programs" it shows "Macromedia Extension Manager" was last used TODAY.
How much of that should I uninstall at this time? All “except” Macromedia Extension Manager? Or all “including” Macromedia Extension Manager?
Thanks.
