    Coding filters

      I'm coding some glow filters and drop shadows too.


      I notice that coding them in as3 is giving me different results than if creating them in the Flash IDE.


      For example, blurX and y of 2 with strength 500% gives a nice stroke effect in the IDE, but coding


      filterName:blurX = 2;

      filterName:blurY = 2;

      filterName:quality = 500;


      gives very different visual results (MUCH fatter stroke).


      is each method using the same units?


      Where do I find what the ranges are for each filter parameter, and what the units represent?
