BritKev Jun 8, 2010 3:26 PM (in response to RGracia)Same here... they really ought to have this sorted before launching...
I notice it didn't take 24 hours to process my credit card payment, what a fiasco.

AnkerBS Jun 8, 2010 4:28 PM (in response to RGracia)Why doesn't someone from Adobe tell us what is going on?
I bet that the email you eventually will receive just has instructions on how to get to the downloads page.
The communications I have had from Adobe about this problems don't recognize any problem on their side. They just keep telling me to go to the downloads page for the serial number.

RGracia Jun 8, 2010 4:44 PM (in response to AnkerBS)I called twice, once because I thought the cc was on hold or something like that and the first rep told me their licensing server was backed up processing licenses all day; the second guy told me that their download+serial system was being reconfigured to meet the demands for lightroom 3 downloads. True we can install as a trial, but I am reluctant to doing that since I had a huge issue with a CS trial in the past, things just were not working after I reinstalled the purchased version, so now I just install final versions after removing completely all betas and trials etc.

Charlie Choc Jun 8, 2010 4:47 PM (in response to AnkerBS)fwiw, I got my serial number email with 15 minutes or so, but the number was on the "your downloads" page under my account before the email arrived.

DVDmike Jun 8, 2010 4:51 PM (in response to RGracia)It took them 20 minutes on the phone with me to finally tell me that the serial number would take between 24 and 48 hours. I had to send them screen shots and such just to prove that I was actually not a complete idiot. Meanwhile they kept asking me the same questions over and over again, not writing anything down. And they didn't even realize that LR 3 was even shipping. And I am the idiot here who does not know how to look at a screen where my serial number is? They also indicated to me at the end of the conversation that this is "normal" to take 24-48 hours and that they are not having any issues.
The good news is that you can install the product and use it for 30 days before it requires you to enter a serial number.

There is double good news here ... the trial version and the "paid" version are exactly the same application .... only difference is one has a serial number the other does not. Plus LR does not need to be "activated" like other Adobe apps ... so there should be a lot less problems in that regard ...
Sounds as though Adobe is struggling to keep up with demand ... hopefully, in light of their good fortune, they will see they can afford to expand the LR Development Team and bring us even more goodies in the next iteration .... *wink* - *wink* - *nudge* - *nudge* ...
