I have had issues with AIFF files, so like with MP3's, I convert to PCM/WAV (for my PC), and have had no issues. I use Adobe Audition, but other audio-editing programs will work too. Note: file size will increase and the compression damage will not be recovered.
AIFF is the Mac equivalent of a Windows WAV file. I would assume they work perfectly fine on a Mac.
For PC use, it may be best to convert to WAVs.
We have identified an issue with AIFF files in CS5 and are working on a fix. For now, we're recommending converting AIFF files to WAV files.
Please help us out with investigating and fixing this issue by filing a bug report and telling us about the AIFF files that are causing you problems and which (if any) are not.
Thanks for that. I have actually encountered issues with PrPro 2.0 and also PrE 4. Now, neither of those were ported for the Mac, so it is more understandable. Still, CS3 & CS4 users have posted of similar issues too.
