    Getting over a bewildering start....

      This morning I took delivery of a boxed copy of Fireworks 8 and, after registering it, settled down to learn how to use it.

      As I stalled in Lesson 2 of Patti Schulze 'Fireworks 8. Training from the Source', published by Macromedia Press, I tried to contact the Technical Support line of Macromedia/Adobe for help.

      You can imagine my surprise to read 3 times a message 'Please record a valid serial number'.

      When I telephoned Customer Support about the matter, I was informed that the serial number is ok but no explanation was available about why it was rejected earlier.

      Is there an explanation? If there is not, does this mean that the unreliable number will not be accepted for an upgrade at later dates?
