Hi. I've built a small Air app which serves the purpose of conveying information to staff. It is about to be rolled out to a few hundred employees and pops up a small bubble at the bottom right corner of the screen when management want to deliver info to their employees.
They've just told me they want it to put itself into 'silent mode' and not pop up while the user is engaged in a powerpoint presentation. Basically if the person is running something full screen (most likely powerpoint) it should supress all popups.
What I'm wondering is.. can Air detect whether a 3rd part app (like powerpoint) is running fullscreen!?
There's no AIR API for this. Possibly if the information is available to native apps, you could write a such a utility and launch it using the new AIR 2.0 NativeProcess API. (This does require packaging your application as a native installer rather than an AIR file.)
