2) Preferences > File Handling > Check LInks Before Opening Document.
You'll have to update them sooner or later though, not sure why you wouldn't want to?

P Spier Jun 10, 2010 5:19 AM (in response to Big Jimm)Links need to be updated before output, but for many group project workflows where lots of people access the same files and editors don't care about links when workinig on text ignoring missing/modified links saves a lot of time. That's why the behavior was changed and the warnings became a preference item. Having fought hard to get the warning in even if the preference was set to ignore the problem on open (innoncent users might not realize the preference was set to ignore missing links and without a warning would never look at the links panel or Live Preflight and never fix them, then complain about the crappy output and blame ID), I personally recommend you keep all warnings active and take the half second it takes to dismiss them.
